Real Madrid has welcomed defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on a four-year deal. The club announced this on Thursday after his contract at Anfield ended.
Los Blancos stated that they and Konate have agreed for him to play for Real Madrid for the next four seasons, until June 30, 2030.
The 27-year-old player joined Liverpool in 2021 from RB Leipzig. While at Liverpool, he made 183 appearances. He also helped the team win the Premier League in 2025 and the FA Cup in 2022, among other trophies.
Konate is currently with the French national team at the World Cup. He will be joining a Real Madrid team that has already made some big moves this summer. Jose Mourinho is the new coach, and they have also signed Spain's Marc Cucurella and Portugal's Bernardo Silva.
