The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that five by-elections will take place on 19 September in four states: Gombe, Kano, Bauchi, and Delta.
Tunde Oketola, the Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, shared this news in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mr Oketola explained that the by-elections include one federal seat and four state constituencies.
The by-election for the federal seat will happen at the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe. The state constituencies will be held at the Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi State, as well as at Udu in Delta State and Dawakin Kudu in Kano State.
These seats became vacant for various reasons.
