The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will start showing the National Register of Voters and giving out Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) in 168 areas in Taraba State on Friday.
This exercise will last for one week and will end on 16 October. It will allow registered voters to check their details, collect their PVCs, and raise claims or objections about the register.
In a statement from Jalingo on Thursday, Ngunan Iyongo, who is INEC’s Head of Voter Education and Publicity, said the exercise will take place every day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Ms Iyongo made this statement on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Taraba.
INEC said this exercise is for people who registered as voters, changed their registration, or asked for replacement of lost PVCs between August and December 2025. This is part of Phase One of the Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
INEC urged affected voters to go to their designated registration areas to check if their names and details are correctly recorded in the register. Voters can also raise claims or objections if they find any mistakes or problems with their records.
But not all PVCs might be available during this exercise. INEC mentioned that more cards would be available for collection once they arrive at the Taraba office from the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The display of the voters’ register will finish on 16 October. However, PVC collection will keep going afterwards at INEC offices in each local government area.
INEC encouraged eligible voters, community leaders, political parties, and civil society groups to help residents verify their registration details and collect their cards before the upcoming elections.
