Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi scored as Fulham came from behind to beat Farense 2-1 in their last pre-season game in Portugal on Saturday, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
The Nigerian player showed great skill in midfield and was key as Marco Silva’s team finished their training camp with a win.
Fulham went behind in the first half after Farense scored first, but they came back strong in the second half, looking for an equaliser.
Iwobi equalised after Emile Smith Rowe was fouled in the penalty area. He stepped up and calmly scored from the penalty spot, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
This goal lifted Fulham’s spirits as they pushed hard for a winner in the closing minutes. Their efforts paid off in the 89th minute when Brazilian striker Rodrigo Muniz scored after Josh King was fouled in the box. The goal sealed a tough win for the Premier League side.
Iwobi had a good season last year, scoring four goals and providing three assists in 29 Premier League games. He was one of Fulham’s best players, even as the team just missed out on qualifying for Europe.
With the new season starting soon, Iwobi wants to keep up his strong pre-season form and play an important role for Fulham in the 2026/27 season.
