The Jigawa State Government has teamed up with Rano Air Limited to start commercial flights from Abuja to Dutse. This move aims to improve travel options and boost economic activities in the state.

The signing ceremony took place at the Government House in Dutse. Deputy Governor Aminu Usman represented Governor Umar Namadi during the event.

According to the agreement, Rano Air will run flights on the Abuja-Dutse route three times a week. The flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, using a 50-passenger aircraft. The state government will support the route's development at the start and create the right conditions for it to succeed.

At the event, the Deputy Governor said this agreement is a major step in enhancing transportation and connectivity for people in Jigawa State. He mentioned that starting regular flights between Dutse and Abuja would provide another way for people to travel and open new economic opportunities for the state.

"The start of regular flights between Dutse and Abuja is more than just adding an airline route. It opens a new chapter of economic opportunities for our state," he said.

The Deputy Governor pointed out that Jigawa is seeing growth in agriculture, commerce, investment, education, tourism, and public administration. So, good transportation is becoming more important.

"Having regular air services will help investors, businesspeople, government officials, partners, professionals, and visitors travel to and from Jigawa. It will also help make Jigawa a more attractive place for investment and business," he added.

He emphasized that the partnership would focus on responsibility, accountability, and performance. The state government expects Rano Air to provide high safety standards, reliability, professionalism, and good customer service.

"We expect Rano Air to keep high standards of safety, reliability, professionalism, and customer service. We want them to follow the agreement, stick to the flight schedule, and keep communicating with us," he said.

Lawan Sabo Bakin Zuwo, the Managing Director of Rano Air Limited, also spoke at the event. He said the airline will provide commercial flights between Abuja and Dutse, giving the people of Jigawa another transport option.

"We understand how important this service is. We assure the Jigawa state government and the people that Rano Air is fully committed to making this partnership work," he stated.

He thanked Governor Namadi for his leadership and support, saying that the governor's dedication to Jigawa's growth helped make this partnership possible.

"We truly appreciate the visionary leadership of His Excellency, Governor Umar Namadi. His commitment to Jigawa's development has made this partnership happen," he said.

He also thanked the Deputy Governor and the Jigawa State Government for their trust in Rano Air.

Bakin Zuwo emphasized that safety would always be the airline’s main focus, along with reliability and good customer service.

"At Rano Air, safety is our top priority. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, operational efficiency, and customer service," he said.

He added that this partnership would help more than just transport. It would strengthen family ties, boost business and investment, support government work, and improve the economy of Jigawa.
