The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State has fired five volunteer personnel for bad behavior, unprofessional actions, and serious indiscipline.
The dismissed personnel are Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer for NSCDC in Kano, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday.
The state commandant, Commandant Mohammed Agalama, approved the dismissals after looking into the misconduct of the personnel. Their actions went against the Corps' values, ethics, and operational standards.
“The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the dismissal of the five volunteer personnel over misconduct, which is contrary to the Corps’ values, ethics and operational standards,” the statement said.
The statement also mentioned that all uniforms, identification materials, and other kits used by the dismissed personnel have been taken back by the Command.
The Commandant instructed all area commanders, divisional officers, and other relevant officers in the state to note this situation. They need to ensure that the fired individuals are not recognized or used in any official capacity for the Corps.
He emphasized the Command’s strict stand against indiscipline. He warned that any personnel caught doing anything that could harm the Corps' image would face serious consequences.
“The NSCDC Kano State Command remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and efficient service delivery in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities,” the statement concluded.
