The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State has fired five volunteer workers for bad behavior and unprofessional actions.
The volunteers dismissed are Yakubu Mubarak Yusuf, Isma’il Muhd, Adamu Auwalu, Abdulrazaq Suleiman, and Ahmad Sarki.
Ibrahim Abdullahi, the Public Relations Officer for the NSCDC in Kano, shared this news in a statement on Tuesday.
The State Commandant, Mohammed Agalama, approved the dismissals after reviewing the misconduct of the volunteers. Their actions went against the values and standards of the Corps.
"The State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, approved the dismissal of the five volunteer personnel over misconduct, which is contrary to the Corps’ values, ethics and operational standards," the statement noted.
The statement also mentioned that all uniforms, identification materials, and other equipment used by the dismissed volunteers have been taken back by the Command.
The Commandant instructed all area commanders and other relevant officers in the state to ensure that the fired personnel are not treated as part of the Corps in any official way.
He emphasized that the Command has a strict no-tolerance policy against indiscipline. Any personnel caught doing anything that could harm the Corps’ reputation will face serious consequences.
"The NSCDC Kano State Command remains committed to professionalism, integrity, and efficient service delivery in the discharge of its statutory responsibilities," the statement concluded.
