The Kano State Police Command has returned a recovered orange Vibe car and an ash-coloured Haojue motorcycle to their owners after checking ownership documents.
The command shared this news in a statement released on Friday by its Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
"The vehicles were recovered through intelligence-led operations and handed over to their owners at the command headquarters in Bompai, Kano, after the necessary verification and documentation," the statement said.
The owners expressed their gratitude to the police for getting their properties back. They praised the officers for their hard work and called the handover a sign of a police service that listens to the people.
The Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, congratulated the owners. He said the recovery fits the policing vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu.
"The policing vision focuses on protecting lives and property, returning stolen items to victims, and building public trust through clear and responsible service," the statement said.
Bakori reassured residents that the command is dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of Kano State.
"The Command is fully committed to making Kano State safe and secure," the commissioner said.
He also mentioned that the police will keep working to return recovered stolen items to their rightful owners after proper checks.
"The Command will ensure that all recovered stolen properties are returned to their legitimate owners after due verification," the statement added.
The command encouraged anyone looking for information about recovered items to reach out to the investigating police officer at 08140081608 or visit the police public relations officer's office at the Bompai Police Headquarters.
