Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, who is the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, welcomed some members from the All Progressives Congress on Sunday. This event took place in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State as they joined the NDC.
Kwankwaso shared his happiness about this on his official X account. He said, “I was elated to receive a group of defectors from Madobi Local Government who have left the APC to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I warmly welcomed them into our fold and assured them of fair and comfortable positions within our party. We continue to grow stronger, free from major distractions,” he added.
Photos from the event show Kwankwaso in his white traditional attire and his usual red-and-white cap. He was standing with the party’s Kano Central senatorial candidate, Nasiru Gawuna. They addressed a big crowd of supporters from a raised platform while holding a microphone.
Other pictures show large groups of supporters. Many of them wore the red caps linked to the Kwankwasiyya movement, cheering and raising their hands in excitement.
This reception highlights the NDC’s plans to grow its support in Kano State as they prepare for the 2027 general elections.
