Kwara United head coach, Suleiman Ashifat, has said the Harmony Boys are ready for the new Nigeria Premier Football League season. He believes the club will start strong, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.
Ashifat spoke to the press after his team beat Crown FC of Ogbomoso 2-0 in a friendly match. This match was held for fans to see how the team is doing after their preseason trip.
“The league is here already, and we have no excuse not to declare our readiness for the season. Today’s friendly was organised for our fans to assess the team after three weeks on the road for preseason,” Ashifat said.
Kwara United just got back from a preseason tournament in Kano. They finished as runners-up after losing to Ranchers Bees in the final through a penalty shoot-out.
Ashifat mentioned that the win over Crown FC is part of the club’s preparation for the new season. He added that they will fix other technical issues before the season starts.
He also called on fans to come out in large numbers for the first match at home against Kano Pillars.
“We promised to give our best and secure maximum points for Kwara State. We need the twelfth man behind us,” he said.
Kwara United will kick off their league season against Kano Pillars at the Kwara State Stadium in Ilorin.
