Actress and producer, Linda Ejiofor, recently made history by winning ‘Best Lead Actress’ and ‘Best Supporting Actress’ at the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards. She spoke with FAITH AJAYI about her career and her life beyond acting.

I feel so grateful. Looking back at where I started, I see a young woman with big dreams and a lot of hope, but not much certainty about how things would go. To be recognized in such a big way today is very humbling. It reminds me that every moment mattered: the wins, the setbacks, the waiting, and the growth. I thank God, everyone who believed in me, and the audience that has supported my journey.

My early days taught me to be strong. I just wanted to improve as an actress with every role I took. I quickly learned that talent is not enough. You need discipline, humility, patience, and a desire to keep learning. Every set, every director, and every role helped me grow. Those experiences shaped who I am today.

Like many actors, there were times when opportunities didn’t come as often as I wished. I had moments when I questioned if I was doing enough or on the right path. The uncertainty can be tough because so much in this industry is out of your control. But I focused on what I could control, like my preparation, professionalism, and commitment to my craft.

I wouldn’t call it a strategy; it is just who I am. I believe the work should speak for itself. Staying true to yourself can be tough in any industry, especially one that changes all the time, but I have learned that being authentic lasts longer than trends. I have never felt like I had to change to stay relevant.

I see it as both. It feels like a wonderful recognition of my years of hard work, but it also feels like the start of something new. Recognition brings more responsibility and higher expectations, but I am ready for that. It pushes me to keep growing and challenging myself creatively.

This win means a lot to me because it recognizes my years of dedication. Moving forward, it inspires me to keep looking for roles that push me creatively and allow me to tell important stories. I want to keep growing and exploring new sides of acting.

I think it has strengthened my sense of responsibility. I want my work to speak for itself and to have a positive impact on the industry. This recognition motivates me to pursue excellence and to build a body of work that inspires and lasts.

I hope it opens doors for me to work with more filmmakers, tell diverse stories, and reach out to different markets. Storytelling is universal, and I want to help create projects that connect with audiences both here and abroad.

Faith, integrity, consistency, and gratitude are my guiding values. Faith keeps me grounded, integrity guides my choices, consistency helps me stay steady, and gratitude makes me appreciate every part of my journey. These values shape my career and my life.

Being married and a mother has made me more focused. They have shown me the importance of balance, perspective, and being present. They’ve also deepened my emotional understanding of people and relationships, which enriches my work as an actress.

One big advantage is that we truly understand each other’s lives. We know the demands, schedules, and emotions involved in our work. This understanding builds a strong support system. We celebrate each other's successes and motivate each other during tough times because we have both faced those challenges.

Balance is a journey, not a goal. Some days are easier than others. What helps is being clear about my priorities and being fully present with my family. I also have a great support system, which makes a big difference.

Motherhood has increased my patience and taught me a deeper kind of selflessness. It has also made me more emotionally aware. As an actress, you pull from human experiences, and motherhood has given me a richer understanding of love, vulnerability, sacrifice, and strength.

I am quite simple. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies, especially Korean dramas, reading, and having good talks with loved ones. The simple moments often recharge me the most.

Family support has been priceless. Having people who believe in you, pray for you, encourage you, and remind you of who you are when times get tough is a blessing. During uncertain times, that support gave me strength and perspective.

Definitely. One of the exciting parts of acting is that there is always more to explore. I want to take on more complex, character-driven dramas, historical pieces, action roles, and stories that challenge me. Growth happens when you step out of your comfort zone.

I want to be remembered as someone who lived with grace, integrity, kindness, and purpose. Awards are great, but the impact I have on people and how I treat them matter just as much.

Professionally, I want to keep growing as an actress, take on more challenging roles, and tell stories that mean something. Personally, I want to build a lovely life with my family, stay present for my loved ones, and grow into the woman God wants me to be. For me, success is not just about achievements; it is about living a meaningful and balanced life.
