Makinde Names Ex-Aviation Minister as Campaign Leader for 2027

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has picked Felix Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation, to be the Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee for the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign. This is in preparation for the 2027 presidential election.

Makinde announced the appointment on Wednesday through his Special Adviser on Media and Digital Communication, Anthony Ehilebo. He also named Hajia Inna Ciroma, a former Minister of Women Affairs, and Dr Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Directors-General for Administration and Operations.

The campaign team said these appointments aim to bring together seasoned political strategists, administrators, and mobilisers. They want to spread the party's message of "Reset Nigeria" across the nation.

In addition, the APM presidential candidate introduced directors for various campaign areas. These include mobilization, legal and compliance, administration and strategy, strategic communications, finance, security, and intelligence, as well as women and youth coordination, and monitoring and documentation.

The statement included, “The Presidential Candidate of the Allied Peoples Movement and Governor of Oyo State, H E Seyi Makinde, FNSE, has appointed Hon. Felix Hassan Hyat as Director-General of the National Campaign Management Committee of the Makinde/Daura Presidential Campaign Organisation.

“Hyat, a former Minister of State for Aviation and former Kaduna State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will lead the campaign’s efforts to take the Reset Nigeria message to Nigerians and secure victory for the APM in the 2027 presidential election.

“Also appointed are Hajia Inna Ciroma, a former Minister of Women Affairs, as Deputy Director-General (Administration), and Hon. Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi as Deputy Director-General (Operations).

“These appointments bring together extensive experience in political strategy, administration, and mobilisation. Hyat’s decades of public service and wide political network, alongside the experience of Ciroma and Aziegbemi, will strengthen the campaign’s organisation and engagement across the country.”

Makinde mentioned that the campaign leadership would partner with APM National Leader and Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, and other party leaders to run the national campaign.

He also appointed Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe as Director of Contact and Mobilisation, Barrister Mark Jacob as Director of Legal and Compliance, Dr Ade Adeagbo as Director of Administration and Strategy, and Hon. Richard Ihediwa as Director of Strategic Communications.

Alhaji Yusuf Ismaila Alkali was named Director of Finance, while Dr Emmanuel Dennis will manage Volunteers, Special Interests, and Support Groups.

Other roles filled include Alhaji Suleiman Hussaini Kankia as Director of Security and Intelligence, Hon. Toyin Balogun as Director of Women Coordination, Alhaji Umar Bida Ndabrama as Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting, and Documentation, and Comrade Armstrong Adah as Director of Youth Coordination.

Adeyemi Moyegun was appointed Director of Organisation and Coordination, while retired CP Babangida Ayuba John was named Deputy Director of Security and Intelligence.

“Further appointments will be announced in due course. The Presidential Candidate urges all APM members, supporters, and friends, as well as Nigerians who share the Reset Nigeria vision, to remain steadfast and work together towards victory in the 2027 general elections,” the statement concluded.
