Man City Guilty of Over 100 Financial Charges, Sanctions Ahead

Manchester City have been found guilty of 114 out of 115 financial charges leveled against them by the Premier League. This news comes from The Athletic.

In response to this latest news, a City spokesperson told The Athletic that the Premier League process is still ongoing. They mentioned that many important parts are still to be completed.

"The Premier League process remains ongoing, with significant elements to be completed, and subject to strict confidentiality. As such Manchester City FC’s position remains consistent with the club’s statement of February 2023.

"The club has diligently respected due process for eight years on the basis the Premier League board and executive would behave as an independent, impartial and fair-minded regulator, free from partisan influence,” the spokesperson said.

The Athletic reports that the club plans to appeal the commission’s decision.

This case is one of the biggest disciplinary actions in Premier League history and has been going on for years.

The charges are from a time when City became a powerhouse in English football, winning multiple Premier League titles and other major trophies.

The verdict does not immediately set the penalties City might face. The punishment will be decided later and could depend on the outcome of any appeal.
