A man known as Biola has been killed by suspected cultists in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

A police source told PUNCH Metro on Tuesday that the attack happened on Sunday in the DKK area of the community.

The source revealed that the victim's left hand was cut off during the attack.

"We got a report on Sunday that a suspected cult attack led to the young man's death. Our officers went to the scene, and they found his body by the roadside with gunshot wounds to his neck and machete cuts on other parts of his body," the source said.

The source added that the victim's body was taken to a morgue.

On Tuesday, PUNCH Metro saw a video shared by Naija Confra. The video showed Biola talking to some unknown men shortly before he died.

The platform claimed that Biola said he was a member of the Eiye confraternity to suspected rival cultists who may have pretended to be part of the same group.

They also claimed that the men shot and killed him, then cut up his body before running away after being confronted by a crowd.

Eyewitnesses said, "After some boys shot and killed him, the attackers cut off his hand and tried to remove his leg and eyes in broad daylight. But because of the crowd, they changed their minds and left the scene."

When asked on Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said she was not aware of the incident but promised to check on it.

This incident happened just days after PUNCH Metro reported the killing of Kamoru Omokoye, a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. He was also killed by suspected cultists at Abijo Bus Stop in the Ibeju-Lekki area of the state.

Omokoye was said to have been attacked and shot in the head by the assailants on Sunday morning.

Reports say the suspects came to the bus stop in an unregistered Lexus RX 350 before attacking the victim.
