MFM and First Bank to Face Off for Women's Basketball Trophy

MFM Women Basketball Team and First Bank will meet in the final of the 2026 NBBF/Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League on Saturday. Both teams reached the final after tough semifinal matches on Friday at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

First Bank won against ASO SKY Queens, who were playing in their first league, with a score of 61-57 in the first semifinal. MFM also had a close match, beating Nigeria Customs 64-61 to secure their spot in the final.

First Bank, who have won the league nine times, are looking to grab their 10th title. MFM is aiming for their third championship, having won the league in 2023 and 2024.

The defending champions, Dolphins, did not reach the Final Eight. They barely avoided relegation on the last day of the Second Phase of the Atlantic Conference.

In the third-place match, Nigeria Customs will go up against ASO SKY Queens. This game is set for 2pm, and the final will take place at 4pm.
