A motorcyclist, who is not yet identified, has died in a crash in front of the Federal Government Girls College on the Iperu-Sagamu Road in Ikenne Local Government Area of Ogun State.

PUNCH Metro found out in a phone call with Babatunde Akinbiyi, the spokesperson for the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, that the accident happened around 6:20 am on Thursday. The crash involved a red Bajaj motorcycle.

Akinbiyi said TRACE operatives and the police rushed to the scene, but they could not find out what caused the crash right away. He mentioned that the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved and that the rider, a male, was alone.

"No injured person was recorded, while one person was confirmed dead," the report said.

He added that the body, presumed dead, was taken to Idera Morgue, Tollgate, Sagamu, by TRACE operatives and police. The motorcycle was also taken by the police for further investigation.

Akinbiyi said the crash did not cause any traffic issues along the route, and the road was clear for vehicles.

In the past week, at least three people have died in different accidents across Ogun State.
