Bayern Munich player Jamal Musiala has assured fans that he is doing well after sharing that he has been diagnosed with brief, temporary episodes of absence due to a neurological issue.
Musiala spoke directly to fans on Instagram on Tuesday. He said, "First things first, I’m doing well! I’m especially grateful for all your messages and support."
He explained that these episodes might explain some concerning moments during recent games, like those against Leipzig and Heidenheim.
“I know that these moments can look scary at first, but for me, they are currently part of my everyday life,” he mentioned.
The 23-year-old said he is under specialist medical care and feels hopeful about his situation. He also highlighted that Bayern Munich and his close friends have been a big support during this time.
Musiala noted that there is "no additional health risk" beyond the condition he talked about. He stated that he has been consulting with specialists and has received the go-ahead from neurological experts to keep playing football.
“It was my personal wish to face this challenge and, with the approval of the neurological specialists, continue doing what helps me most in my recovery: simply living my everyday life and continuing to pursue my passion of playing football,” Musiala said.
He remains positive about his recovery and believes that staying active with his team is beneficial for him.
“Overall, I have a very good feeling, and I’m on a good path. What helps me most along the way is continuing to chase victories with my team and with your incredible support,” he shared.
Musiala also asked fans to respect his privacy. He wants to keep more details about his health within his close circle, Bayern Munich, and his medical team.
“I hope this helps you understand me better,” he concluded, thanking supporters for their continued encouragement.
