AK Media Concepts Limited has announced its new drama series, ‘The Family Man’. This show looks at love, betrayal, forgiveness, redemption, and second chances.
The 30-minute series follows Banjo Balogun, a skilled civil engineer played by Olarotimi Fakunle. After serving 10 years of a 21-year prison sentence, he returns home thanks to the governor’s pardon.
Banjo hopes to reconnect with his wife and three kids. Instead, he finds that his family has changed a lot while he was away.
His return is made harder by his struggle to find work due to his criminal past. Banjo once was a respected engineer and provider. Now, he faces challenges regaining his place in a home where his wife, Chioma, has built a successful career and is the main provider.
Things take a turn when Chioma is found to be in a relationship with Iredia, Banjo’s best friend and marriage counsellor.
Set in modern-day Lagos, especially in Lekki, The Family Man mixes family drama, romance, humour, suspense, and crime. It shows the challenges of rebuilding relationships and starting fresh after prison.
The cast includes Joy Nmezi, Nifemi Lawal, Jasmine Olarotimi, Eze Ukwa, Femi Branch, Akin Lewis, Kunle Dada, Modola Osifuwa, Kenny Ayanfe, Babaseun Faseru, Halimah Ganiyu, and Chy Nwakama, along with Fakunle.
Tunde Olaoye directs the series, while Olajumoke Akindeju-Asekun is the executive producer. This series is the latest entry in AK Media Concepts’ growing list of drama productions.
Olajumoke Akindeju-Asekun, the Managing Director, spoke about the project. She called it a multi-million-naira production aimed at meeting modern cinematic standards.
She mentioned that the series has a strong storyline, advanced filming equipment, and a well-chosen cast of established actors.
