Nigerian-American actress and TV host, Osas Ighodaro, has landed a lead role in the new Nolly-Bollywood series, Imported Bahu.

The series was officially announced on Monday by executive producer, Hamisha Daryani Ahuja. Ighodaro will star with Bollywood actor and model, Rajniesh Duggall. The story focuses on love, family secrets, and a romance between different cultures.

Ahuja shared the news on Instagram, introducing Imported Bahu as the first vertical micro-drama series from her production company, Forever 7 Entertainment.

“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu, Forever 7 Entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series. A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down,” she posted.

The trailer reveals the story of Bahu Mehra, a son from a rich Indian family who went abroad. His family expected him to come back with gifts, but he surprises them by returning with Zara Ogun, played by Ighodaro, a Nigerian.

Zara Ogun is a multimillionaire CEO of Oguns Fashion. She is portrayed as bold and confident, but she faces challenges gaining acceptance from Bahu’s family.

Ahuja also announced that the series will premiere on July 2, 2026, and will be available exclusively on LebaraPlay, which is Africa’s first telecom-owned micro-drama platform.

Ahuja is known for creating links between Nollywood and Bollywood. She has produced films like Namaste Wahala and Postcards. This new series aims to continue her work in blending African and Indian stories through cross-cultural productions.

Ighodaro’s role in Imported Bahu is another major achievement in her career. It helps her grow her presence in international entertainment.

She has gained fame for her roles in film and TV, as well as her work as a TV presenter and former beauty queen.

The trailer for Imported Bahu has already been released before its July launch, building excitement among fans of both Nollywood and Bollywood.
