Newcastle came from two goals down against Bournemouth on Saturday to draw 2-2. This result keeps their unbeaten run going after a tough time at the club.
Bournemouth took the lead in the 35th minute. Marcus Tavernier scored from close range, and an own goal from Malick Thiaw, both thanks to deflections, made it 2-0.
Newcastle winger Harvey Barnes changed the game with a beautiful curling shot just two minutes later.
The home side struggled in the second half, but substitute Jacob Ramsey scored in the 88th minute to level the match.
Newcastle remains unbeaten in all competitions this season. They drew 2-2 with Liverpool in their first Premier League match and later beat Tottenham 2-0.
The club brought in German coach Matthias Jaissle last month after Eddie Howe, who had been there for a long time, left. Howe also used to coach Bournemouth.
Some key players like Bruno Guimaraes, Sandro Tonali, and Anthony Gordon have left the club. Still, Newcastle made eight new signings during what they called a "transformational" summer transfer window.
Bournemouth also has a new head coach, Marco Rose, after Andoni Iraola moved to Liverpool. They started strong at St James’ Park and took a well-deserved lead.
Alex Scott's shot took a big deflection and fell nicely for Tavernier, who quickly poked the ball past Lukas Hornicek.
Bournemouth made it 2-0 when Justin Kluivert's long-range shot hit the post. The ball bounced off Hornicek before Scott's cross hit Thiaw and went into the net.
But Newcastle gave themselves hope when Barnes ran down the left, cut inside, and curled a fantastic shot past Djordje Petrovic.
New signing Matias Fernandez-Pardo came on in the 63rd minute to cheers from the crowd. Jaissle made more changes, looking for the equalizer.
Bournemouth has been known for giving up late goals, and this time was no different. They failed to clear the ball, and Ramsey kept his cool to earn a point for Newcastle.
