The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has won the Public Information Campaign of the Year Award at the 2026 Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) Special Recognition Awards. The event took place on Friday, 23 October 2026, at the Balmoral Event Centre in Ikeja, Lagos.

This award highlights the Agency’s important work in public enlightenment, communication strategies, civic education, and sharing government policies and programs with Nigerians.

The Director-General of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, was not at the event. Instead, Bala Musa, the Director of Communication and Media, accepted the award for him.

The lively ceremony brought together many top public and private sector groups, advertising experts, business leaders, and other important players in Nigeria’s advertising and marketing field. They all came together to celebrate creativity and excellence.

Other awards given out at the ceremony included Excellence in Consumer Response Management, Excellence in Sponsorship Marketing, and Brand Reinvention and Innovation. Many sectors were recognized, such as food and beverages, aviation, banking and insurance, computers and electronics, e-commerce, real estate, personal care, entertainment, medical and pharmaceuticals, education, telecommunications, hospitality, and more.

After receiving the award, Lanre Issa-Onilu called it a big endorsement of the Agency’s commitment to smart public communication, national value change, and engaging citizens.

He pointed out that the award shows how important effective public information campaigns are for national development, building public trust, promoting responsible citizenship, and closing the communication gap between the government and the people.

The Director-General also stressed that the Agency aims to improve public understanding of government policies, promote the National Values Charter, enhance national unity, and inspire positive change in behavior.

He dedicated the award to the management and staff of the Agency across Nigeria, especially those at the grassroots level. Their hard work and professionalism help strengthen the Agency’s presence and impact.

Issa-Onilu thanked ARCON for recognizing how public sector communication contributes to national development. He believes the award will encourage the Agency to use creative, inclusive, and citizen-focused communication methods.

He reaffirmed NOA’s promise to use its countrywide network, traditional and digital media, and partnerships to promote informed citizenship, national unity, and lasting change in behavior.

This award marks another achievement in the Agency’s ongoing efforts to make public orientation a key tool for national change. It also reinforces NOA’s goal to create impactful public information campaigns that connect with Nigerians from all walks of life.
