Nigerian wrestler Oba Femi has defeated former UFC and WWE champion Brock Lesnar in a tough Hell in a Cell match at WWE SummerSlam on Saturday night. This win marks one of the biggest moments in his career.
The match took place at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Femi, born in Lagos, faced Lesnar in his first-ever Hell in a Cell match.
From the start, Femi attacked Lesnar, taking hits from multiple German suplexes and a Tombstone on wooden boards under the ring. He also endured several strikes with steel steps before hitting back with two chokeslams.
The match peaked when Lesnar tried to use a steel chair. Femi knocked the chair out of his hands with a strong right punch. He then delivered his trademark move, the Fall From Grace, to win the match.
After the fight, Lesnar hugged Femi and took a microphone to praise the Nigerian wrestler. He called himself the past and Femi the future of WWE, showering Femi with respect in front of the crowd at SummerSlam.
Femi was surprised by the gesture from his long-time rival. He said, “The hug and public endorsement was definitely a shock, and I didn’t see that coming. I know that deep down, Brock has always respected me, and he knows that deep down, I respect him as well.”
This victory adds to a strong year for Femi. He had already beaten Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in April and won the 2026 King of the Ring tournament in June.
Their SummerSlam match was the peak of a rivalry that lasted months. Lesnar came back from retirement to attack Femi before winning in a rematch at Clash in Italy.
