Former Abia Angels assistant coach Ogochukwu Atube is sure she will return to the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) very soon.

In a chat with Sports 247, the Ika local government area of Delta State native shared her experience with different clubs in the league. She believes this makes her a strong choice for any team in need of technical skills. Atube is now part of the coaching team at Flying Sports Academy in FESTAC Town, Lagos. There, she mentors young boys and stays active in football.

Atube talked about her journey: “I then joined Flying Sports Academy and worked with them for six years before moving to Goodland Rangers. I handled them from NLO to NNL for two seasons, then started working for clubs in the NWFL. Among the teams that I’ve worked with in the league are Naija Ratels, Abia Angels and Osun Babes.”

She worked with former Super Falcons goalkeeper Ann Agumanu at Abia Angels until early this season. After that, she chose to return briefly to grassroots football. When asked how soon she thinks she will be back in the NWFL, she said: “I believe in God that it will be very soon.”

The friendly coach, who seems happy and motivated with the young players she teaches, believes her past experience makes her a valuable asset for any club that wants her help. Her return would add another experienced female coach to the NWFL at a time when the league is striving for more professionalism and growth.
