Ogogo’s daughter clears up death rumours

The daughter of popular Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, known as Ogogo, has denied reports that the 66-year-old actor has died.

The death rumour spread on social media on Tuesday after a Facebook user claimed that one of Ogogo’s daughters, Haleemah Taiwo, announced his passing.

The user wrote on Facebook, “Haleemah Taiwo just posted that her father, Mr. Hassan Taiwo, has passed away after being rejected by different hospitals. He is survived by his wife, children, and grandchildren. May his soul rest… He’s finally gone.”

But Lima Taiwo, one of Ogogo’s daughters, quickly dismissed the report as false. She urged the public to stop sharing the claim.

On Instagram, she wrote, “This is false!!!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!!!! This is false!!! THIS IS FAKE… PLEASE STOP SPREADING FAKE NEWS.”

This clarification came just a day after Lima and her sister, Kira Taiwo, made emotional appeals for help for their father, who is fighting cancer.

In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, Lima revealed that Ogogo’s health had worsened and claimed that some hospitals had refused to continue his treatment.

With tears in her eyes, she called on medical professionals, hospitals, and anyone with access to cancer treatment to help their family.

Lima explained that the family only learned about the seriousness of Ogogo’s condition three weeks ago. She noted that his physical appearance had not shown how serious the illness was.

She emphasized that the family was not looking for financial donations but for medical help for their father.

In another emotional video, Kira shared that her father’s cancer has reached stage four. She said the hospital treating him had told the family that it could no longer give him chemotherapy.

Kira asked hospitals, cancer specialists, and other medical professionals who could provide treatment to come forward.

She urged anyone who could help the actor to reach out to her or her sister. Kira is determined to find a way to get treatment for him.
