Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, has said he is not leaving Udinese this summer. This comes even with interest from Juventus and other top clubs in Europe, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
Okoye had a solid season, keeping 10 clean sheets in 30 league matches. His efforts helped Kosta Runjaic’s team finish in the top half of Serie A. His good form at club level, along with his performances for Nigeria in pre-World Cup friendlies against Poland and Portugal, has caught the attention of big European clubs.
The goalkeeper, who has 21 caps for the Super Eagles, is valued at €10 million by Transfermarkt. He has two years left on his contract and is focused on his time at Udinese.
“Of course, I still have goals in my career, but currently my head is complete at Udinese. I enjoy it without thinking too much about the future. In football things can change quickly, and if it happens, I know that the club is well positioned and can still earn a nice replacement. But until then, I am 100 per cent Udinese professional,” Okoye told Transfermarkt.
Okoye spent part of his summer break in a Formula One car and even appeared with American rapper Cardi B at a fashion event in Paris. Now, he is back in pre-season training with Udinese, without any transfer worries.
“I am happy to be here. We are happy to be here with the fans, and we cannot wait to get started,” the 26-year-old said in quotes shared by Tuttomercatoweb after Udinese revealed their jersey for the 2026/27 season.
With pre-season training now on, Okoye aims to build on last year's performance. He will then join Eric Chelle’s Super Eagles squad for Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September. He hopes to compete for the number one spot after Stanley Nwabali returned to Chippa United.
Udinese kicks off their 2026/27 season with a Coppa Italia match against Serie B team Padova on August 15.
