A man, who has not been named yet, has been killed and another person seriously injured in a suspected cult fight in the Ojo Road area of Ajegunle, Lagos State.
The trouble reportedly started on Sunday evening, September 27. This fight began after a disagreement that led to a member of the Aye cult group, known as Qudus, stabbing a suspected member of the Vikings confraternity.
A report by Naija Confra, seen by PUNCH Metro on Thursday, said that members of the Vikings later retaliated and attacked Qudus, causing him serious injuries.
"He was reportedly taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment," the report stated.
This incident led to a revenge attack by suspected members of the Aye group. They allegedly killed a man near a bus stop on Ojo Road.
Naija Confra reported that while the Aye group claimed the deceased was a member of the Vikings, members of the Vikings denied this, insisting he was not one of them.
An X user, known as Mohawk, shared a different version of what happened. Mohawk claimed that four people came to the area to start a fight and one of them brought an outsider who attacked Qudus and three others.
The X user also said that some involved did not know what the outsider planned to do. "He was reported at the station and police officers subsequently searched his residence," Mohawk added.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, said she had no information about the incident.
"I’ll have to check with the DPO or Area Commander. I’ll get back to you tomorrow," she said.
