The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Moses Adeyemo, said on Tuesday that the improvement in electricity supply in Nigeria is due to President Bola Tinubu's commitment to reviving important sectors of the economy.
Adeyemo made this comment while hosting the Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, who visited the APC Secretariat in Oke-Ado, Ibadan South-West Local Government Area, to express gratitude.
The APC chairman expressed his belief that Tegbe would not let Nigerians down, as they deserve the best.
He stated, “I want to attribute the improvement in the supply of electricity in Nigeria to the commitment of President Tinubu’s administration to the revival of all critical sectors of the economy, and I also believe that our Minister of Power, Tegbe, would not disappoint Nigerians who deserve the best.”
PUNCH Online reports that Tegbe took office in July 2026 after the former Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu, resigned to pursue his governorship ambition in Oyo ahead of the 2027 elections.
Earlier, Tegbe thanked Tinubu for trusting him with the task of addressing the challenges in the power sector.
He also showed appreciation to Oyo State's notable citizens, especially APC members, who supported his nomination and provided encouragement.
Tegbe said, “I did not expect the degree of support and enthusiasm that my first and second appointments by President Tinubu attracted from all APC leaders, members, and supporters for certain political reasons. But I have come to realize that nothing is too much to be done for the progressive family and humanity as a whole. Particularly, I appreciate the current leadership of the party in the state for believing in us to deliver the good.”
“The President is determined to fix problems in the power sector, and we are not leaving any stone unturned to achieve this goal. Nigerians can testify to the considerable improvement in electricity supply nationwide in recent weeks, but we have not reached where we want to be as a force to reckon with in the global community.”
“A lot of projects are ongoing in all parts of the country, and by the time most of them are completed, every part of the country would have a constant power supply, and we would all be proud of the Tinubu administration. In a few weeks from now, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will have full installation of solar-powered street lights, while mini solar grids will be constructed in six different locations in the state.”
“The project in Ogbomoso is nearing completion, and I can say here that the little challenges being experienced by the contractors handling the project have been addressed, and they will deliver the whole project very soon.”
“The one in Saki, aimed at fixing the long-standing problems in Oke-Ogun and Ibarapa axis, is also receiving the right attention. More importantly, we will spare no effort to ensure that President Bola Tinubu gets re-elected in 2027. We are not going to stop at that, as all the candidates of our great party will get our full backing. I have opened talks with most of the aggrieved gubernatorial aspirants, and I have no doubt in my mind that everything will be resolved in no time.”
“We will work with all the support groups because we appreciate what they are doing in the interest of our great party and our dear country as patriots,” Tegbe added.
