Patience Ozokwor defends her roles as 'Mama G'

Veteran Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor is proud of the “villainous” roles she plays in movies. She believes these characters show real issues in society, not who she is as a person.

In a recent video chat, the 67-year-old actress talked about how people often confuse her film roles with her true self. Many fans think she is wicked in real life because of the tough characters she portrays.

Ozokwor, well-known for her “Mama G” character, explained that her acting is meant to shine a light on problems in society. She wants to bring attention to issues that people often ignore.

“I feel bold to expose the ills in society. Those things happen and nobody wants to expose them. I am exposing them,” she said.

The actress made it clear that her roles as strict mothers, harsh in-laws, and other strong characters are just performances. They do not reflect who she really is.

“I am not like that, but I expose it. I am extremely proud of myself and Mama G lovers are proud of me,” she added.

Ozokwor mentioned that acting is about telling stories and reflecting on morals. She is happy that many fans understand the messages behind her roles.

Over the years, she has become one of Nollywood’s most famous actresses. Her career is marked by strong performances of complicated and often controversial characters.
