Former Governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, was at the Nigeria Premier Football League match on Sunday. The match was between Ikorodu City and Rangers International at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos.
Ikorodu City shared Mr Obi's attendance on their social media during the Matchday 6 event. They posted, "Live at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena to witness the beauty of the ‘NPFL, Nigeria Premier League.’

The match started at 4 p.m. It featured Ikorodu City facing the defending champions, Rangers, at the Onikan stadium. This game was part of the Matchday 6 fixtures in the 2026/27 NPFL season.
Rangers came to Lagos with a strong record, having not lost any of their last four matches. Ikorodu City, on the other hand, was looking to bounce back after losing 2-1 to Bendel Insurance in Benin on Wednesday. Rangers had won their last league match against Ranchers Bees, finishing 1-0.
