Phyna accuses Ashmusy of trying to take her out of boxing match

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Phyna, has accused content creator, Ashmusy, of trying to get her out of a big celebrity boxing event worth millions.

Phyna made this claim in an Instagram video on Thursday. She said she had been talking to the organisers since February 2026 before introducing Ashmusy to them.

She stated that the organisers first reached out to her for the boxing match and then asked her to suggest other celebrities who could join.

Phyna said she recommended Ashmusy after another opponent could not make it. But she alleged that Ashmusy later asked the organisers to take her off the list.

She said, “Ashmusy, you’re evil. A company reached out to me in February to come and fight a Ghanaian. But along the line, something came up for her; she said she had a wedding on the day of the fight.

“It was as if I was part of the organisers because they called me to help reach out to so-and-so person. So, I was just contributing and giving names of people that I thought they should reach out to.

“After I talked with Ashmusy, she said I should connect her with the organiser. I then went on a three-way call, and she asked for their number. After accepting the deal, Ashmusy stopped picking my calls and didn’t reply to my messages.

“Now, do you know that since a day before yesterday, Ashmusy has been telling the organiser to drop me, that she has a better person to replace me? Me that has been talking to this company for seven months since February. I was the one who brought Ashmusy in last week.”

In response, Ashmusy posted a statement on her Instagram page denying any attempt to remove Phyna from the event.

She claimed that she was not comfortable fighting Phyna because she is not a professional boxer. She added that she only shared her concerns with the organisers.

She said, “I did not ask for Phyna to be removed from the event. I did not campaign against her participation. I simply expressed that I was not comfortable boxing her, and the organisers offered a solution that worked for everyone.”

Ashmusy said the organisers agreed to set up separate fights for both women and promised to inform Phyna about it.

But she expressed her anger that what she thought were private talks became public. She also condemned the threats she received after the issue.

Ashmusy later announced that she is pulling out of the event, saying she does not want to be part of a public fight.

“I have decided to opt out of this bout entirely. That decision should be respected and professionally reflected by all parties involved. I will not be dragged into a public back-and-forth. This is my final statement on this matter,” she said.
