The Snaresbrook Crown Court has confirmed that popular Nigerian dancer and socialite, Iweh Pascal Odinaka, known as Poco Lee, will appear in court for assault charges.
The London court confirmed this in a message to our correspondent on Tuesday.
PUNCH Online had emailed the court to ask about the alleged sexual assault involving Poco Lee on Monday.
In reply, the court’s Admin Team Lead, James Baker, said the case is official and set for plea and trial preparation on September 15, 2026.
Baker did not share specific times or courtroom details for the hearing.
He stated, “OFFICIAL. Good afternoon. I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026.
“Criminal Court hearings are open to the public. Precise times and courtroom information will not be available until the day before the hearing. Many thanks.”
PUNCH Online reported on Monday that Benjamin Kuti, known as Oluomo of Derby, who founded the community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom, said Poco Lee is currently in a UK prison. He is set to appear at the Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026, at exactly 10 am.
Kuti said he knows about the situation because he regularly attends court proceedings and supports Nigerians dealing with legal issues in the UK.
“I can confirm that the reports are true. Poco Lee is currently on remand in a UK prison. His next court date is scheduled for the second week of September, when he is expected to have a plea hearing,” he said.
He explained that a plea hearing usually involves the accused saying either guilty or not guilty.
Kuti added that he intends to attend the hearing to support members of the Nigerian community in the UK.
His statement supported the inquiry made to the court, which confirmed that the socialite will be in court for the trial regarding the assault allegation against him.
