Poco Lee's Court Hearing Set for September 15, UK Officials Confirm

The case against Nigerian dancer and entertainer, Iweh Odinaka, known as Poco Lee, is still active in the UK. His plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled for September 15, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed.

PUNCH Online asked the CPS about the case on Saturday. The CPS Press Office replied that the case is still ongoing and that Odinaka is set to appear in front of Snaresbrook Crown Court on September 15, 2026.

The CPS stated, "This case is still live, and Odinaka is still set to appear for a PTPH at Snaresbrook Crown Court on 15 September 2026."

PTPH stands for Plea and Trial Preparation Hearing. This is a pre-trial meeting where matters about the defendant’s plea and trial preparation are discussed.

The CPS did not say whether Odinaka had been released from custody or was still in remand. This was in response to rumors spreading online regarding his status.

Our reporter has also reached out to Snaresbrook Crown Court for details about his current custody or bail situation and is waiting for a reply.

This request for clarification comes after online reports claimed that the dancer had been released from a UK prison. Some said that the complainant had dropped the case or that it had been settled outside of court.

As of now, those claims have not been confirmed by the UK court.

Odinaka faces five sexual offence charges in the UK. These include attempted rape, two counts of rape, and two counts of assault by penetration.

Snaresbrook Crown Court earlier confirmed that the case is listed for plea and trial preparation on September 15.

The court has also put a reporting restriction in place to keep the complainant's identity private, following Section 1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992.

The case began after Odinaka visited the UK in August for the Davido and Friends concert, which took place at the Crystal Palace Bowl in London on August 14.

Odinaka has not been found guilty of any crime. The court has yet to decide on the allegations against him.
