Afrobeats star Davido has featured his wife, Chioma Adeleke, in the official music video for his love song ‘Already Falling’. The video ends with a romantic scene where Davido goes down on one knee to present her with a ring.

Released on Wednesday, the video highlights the couple’s relationship. Chioma stars alongside Davido in a cinematic production that mixes European chateau scenery with Nigerian cultural elements.

Meji Alabi directed the video. He also directed Davido’s 2018 hit ‘Assurance’. The video shows the singer and his wife in a series of romantic scenes, ending with the proposal by a lake at dusk.

Davido shared the video online, saying, “Already Falling. From us to you. Enjoy.”

This is not the first time the Grammy-nominated singer has dedicated a music video to his wife. ‘Already Falling’ continues Davido’s tradition of celebrating his relationship with Chioma through music and visuals.

Davido has called the song a second part of ‘Assurance’. That was his 2018 hit dedicated to Chioma when they were dating. Chioma also starred in that song’s video, which is one of the most recognized moments of their relationship in public.

In the new video, Davido arrives at a French chateau in a horse-drawn carriage. He moves through the estate, where dancers, elaborate costumes, and grand interiors set the tone for the romantic story.

Chioma appears in a gold-and-black gown. Other scenes show the couple in a red convertible and at a gathering with Martell cognac.

The video reaches its emotional peak beside a lake. There, Davido kneels and opens a red ring box in front of Chioma. The last scene shows the couple in traditional-inspired attire, posing like a royal Black couple seen earlier in the video.

Though the proposal looks romantic, the couple is already married. This scene is a cinematic recreation of their commitment, not a new engagement.

‘Already Falling’ is the eighth track on Davido’s sixth studio album, Oriadé, which came out on July 31.

The Afrobeats song mixes English, Yoruba, and Nigerian Pidgin into a playful declaration of love. In the song, Davido says he is ready to commit fully to Chioma.

The lyrics include sweet phrases like “my sugar banana, honey bunny” and state that he is already falling in love. The track also references Elvis Presley’s ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’, mentioning the line about ‘wise men and fools rushing into love.’

Classic and Sensei produced the song. Peruzzi provided background vocals. Davido, Peruzzi, Classic, and Sensei are among the credited writers, along with the writers of the Elvis Presley-associated composition.

The project was released through Davido Music Worldwide and Sony Music. The song reached No. 9 on the Official UK Afrobeats Songs Chart.

Chioma’s appearance has been a hot topic among fans. Many had requested her to feature in the official video. Their relationship has been a big part of Davido’s music over the years, especially in ‘Assurance’ and ‘1 Milli’, another song with Chioma in a wedding-themed video released in 2020.

‘Already Falling’ continues that trend, bringing their relationship back to the center of his musical storytelling. The video also carries on the visual rollout for Oriadé and includes Davido’s long-standing partnership with Martell.
