Fleetwood Town shocked Arsenal by winning 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their fourth-round match at Highbury Stadium on Tuesday.

Aaron Loupalo-Bi gave Fleetwood the lead after just 21 minutes. Viktor Gyokeres brought Arsenal back into the game with an equalizer early in the second half.

Arsenal had plenty of chances to win the match during normal time but could not score again.

In the penalty shootout, Arsenal scored their first three penalties through Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz, and Gyokeres. Fleetwood responded with goals from Harrison Neal, Ronan Coughlan, and Will Davies. Andy Cannon scored the fourth penalty for Fleetwood. But then, Arsenal's Bruno Guimaraes had his shot saved by Fleetwood's goalkeeper Jay Lynch, putting Fleetwood close to victory.

Conor Haughey stepped up for Fleetwood and scored the fifth penalty. This goal sent the home fans into a frenzy and secured Fleetwood's place in the quarter-finals.

Things got worse for Arsenal when teenager Max Dowman was sent off after a confrontation with Neal late in the match.
