Head coach of Nigeria's U-17 women's national team, Hakeem Busari, is determined to make a significant impact at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup. As the Flamingoes prepare for the tournament, Busari believes this event is a chance for Nigeria and his team to show their skills against the best in the world.
Busari shared that his personal goals match the team's aim to bring pride to Nigeria. He is focused on tactical training and helping the players grow. “For me, I want to make a name; I want to make a mark for Nigeria and equally for myself,” Busari said. “As a coach, whatsoever you do, a lot of people are looking at you, but you don’t know where your career will take you. All the best is for you to just do your artistry work on the team, free your mind, do your job on the pitch.”
The Flamingoes coach also mentioned that while the team has clear strengths, they need to keep improving as the tournament approaches. “At this point, we can see our strong points, but we still want to do more,” he added.
Nigeria hopes to build on past successes, with Busari’s team aiming for early wins. The coaching staff has worked hard to create a strong squad that can compete against top teams. Fans back home are eagerly watching every training session as excitement grows for the first match. Discipline, physical fitness, and precise finishing are the main focuses of their training camp right now.
