The Delta State Police have arrested a well-known content creator, Ifeanyi Ogbonna, also called “Odogwu of Asaba.” He is connected to the rape of a 20-year-old woman who later died while in the hospital.
This information came from a statement by the State Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, on X on Wednesday.
The suspect is 40 years old and lives in Asaba. He was arrested after claims that he brought the victim to Delta State under the guise of mentoring her in content creation.
Police sources say the suspect tricked the woman into his hotel room in Asaba, where he reportedly assaulted and raped her.
Investigators revealed that the victim made a video explaining what happened to her before she allegedly swallowed a poisonous substance.
She was quickly taken to a hospital for treatment but sadly died later.
The police have detained the suspect as they continue to investigate the details of the incident.
The statement said, “The Delta State Police Command has arrested a popular content creator, one Ifeanyi Ogbonna, male, aged 40, also popularly known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” in connection with the alleged rape of a 20-year-old girl. The suspect invited the victim to Asaba in the guise of teaching her content creation, lured her to his hotel room, allegedly tortured and raped her. The deceased who could not withstand the trauma, made a video of her encounter, then took insecticide; she eventually died while receiving treatment,” the statement said.
