Police praise peaceful Ekiti election

The Nigeria Police Force has praised the Ekiti State governorship election. They described the election as peaceful, orderly and mostly free of major security issues.

In a post on their official X account on Sunday, the police thanked voters, election officials, political stakeholders and security personnel for their roles in making the election smooth across the state.

The Force said that the teamwork of everyone involved helped keep peace and public order during the election.

“The Nigeria Police Force appreciates the people of Ekiti State for their cooperation, peaceful conduct, and commitment to democracy throughout the electoral process,” the post stated.

The police also recognized the efforts of election officials, stakeholders and security operatives who were on duty across the state.

“We also commend election officials, stakeholders, and security personnel whose efforts contributed to maintaining peace and public order,” the Force added.

This praise came after the Ekiti governorship election ended and a winner was declared. Stakeholders are now looking back at how the election was conducted.

The police encouraged citizens to keep supporting peaceful and lawful participation during and after elections.

“Thank you for choosing peace,” the post concluded.
