The Police Trust Fund has asked for more funding to fight the growing insecurity in Nigeria. Dr. Abubakar Tsav, the Executive Secretary of the Fund, made this request at a meeting with stakeholders in Abuja.

Dr. Tsav said the current funding is not enough for the Fund to provide the needed support to the police and other security agencies. He pointed out that the rise in crime and insecurity in the country requires more financial support from the government.

He said, β€œFor us to effectively combat the challenges of insecurity, we need to enhance our funding. The current budgetary allocation is not sufficient to meet the demands of modern policing and security operations.”

The Executive Secretary also talked about how important it is for the police to work together with other security agencies. He mentioned that community involvement in security is also needed. He encouraged citizens to help the police by sharing timely information that could help prevent crime.

Dr. Tsav stressed that the Police Trust Fund is dedicated to making sure resources are used well to boost the police force's capabilities. He called on the government to make security funding a priority in the national budget to help create a safer environment for all Nigerians.
