Power Outage Hits Ogun Communities Due to Technical Issue

The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company has reported that a power outage is affecting several communities and important places in Ogun State. This is due to a technical fault on two electricity feeders.

The areas impacted include parts of Abeokuta. Some of the places without power are MAPOLY, Lafenwa, Olomore, Adigbe, Panseke, Ita Eko, Alamala Barracks, and Ogun-Osun River Basin.

IBEDC shared this news in a power outage notice on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. They said the problem is linked to the Owode Line 1 and Imeko 33kV feeders.

"Kindly be informed that due to a technical fault affecting the Owode Line 1 and Imeko 33kV feeders, the following communities/customers are experiencing a power outage: Slab Petrol Station, MAPOLY, B & Y Hotel, White House Hotel, Rock Face Hotel, Kings Hotel, Mafiz Royal Hotel, Upright Hotel, Ogun-Osun River Basin, Olomore, Lafenwa, Adehun, Rounder, Abule Sikiru, Orelope, Ifetedo, Sabo, Alamala Barracks, Alamutu, Akinolugbade, Kolobo, Oriyanrin, Agbena, Agejo, Saraki, Adigbe, Kuforiji, Ita Eko, Panseke, Soyoye and environs."

IBEDC is working with its partners to keep an eye on the issue. They said, "We are closely monitoring the situation with our value chain partners and will keep you updated on developments."

The company also apologized to those affected by the outage. "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience," they said.
