Under manager Luis Enrique, PSG has become a strong team in Europe. They have won the Champions League for two seasons in a row.
On the other hand, Aston Villa lifted the Europa League trophy on May 20. They won 3-0 against Freiburg in the final, marking their first major European title since 1982.
Manager Unai Emery is known for his success in Europe and has turned Aston Villa into a team that can compete on the continental stage.
The Super Cup usually features the Champions League winners against the Europa League winners. This match gives fans an early look at two top teams in Europe.
UEFA stated, "Paris lifted the UEFA Super Cup in 2025, coming from 2-0 down to beat Tottenham on penalties, though they lost over two legs against Juventus in their first appearance in 1996."
They added, "Aston Villa won their only previous UEFA Super Cup over two legs in 1982, seeing off Barcelona."
