The Adamawa State Police have confirmed that six people died in a serious car accident on Friday along the Yola-Girei Road.
In a statement released on Friday by the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, he said that a preliminary report showed that six people lost their lives in the crash.
“The victims were rushed to a hospital where they were confirmed dead,” he stated.
“Police operatives from Girei Divisional Headquarters, Federal Housing and the Central Motor Traffic Division were quickly sent to the scene to evacuate the victims and restore normal traffic.”
The statement mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, CP Kabir Hassan, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and prayed for their souls to rest in peace.
He also called for calm, urging drivers to be careful, follow traffic rules, and avoid speeding to stop more deaths from happening.
Reports from The PUNCH show that this is the fourth accident on the Yola-Girei Road, with over 10 people killed in less than a month.
