Hollywood actor Tobey Maguire, famous for his role as Spider-Man, officiated the wedding of his ex-wife Jennifer Meyer to Geoffrey Ogunlesi, the son of a Nigerian billionaire.
Entertainment news site E! News reported on Monday that Maguire led Meyer and Ogunlesi in their wedding vows at the Four Seasons Resort Lanai in Hawaii on Saturday, October 10.
This wedding took place just weeks after Maguire and Meyer finalized their divorce. The Los Angeles Times shared that court documents confirmed their marriage was officially ended on October 1.
Maguire and Meyer announced their separation in 2016 after marrying in 2007, according to the newspaper.
E! News said that the former couple stayed close over the years. Maguire was even chosen to officiate her wedding to Ogunlesi.
Meyer has said that she considers her former husband her best friend. In December 2025, during the Inside Edit podcast, she talked about how they kept their relationship strong after their split, especially while raising their kids.
“Our daughter was 10 or something. Those are some intense times that you need to stay connected. And then we had a son who was 7. You’re raising kids at an intense time,” she said.
Meyer acknowledged that co-parenting was not easy. “It was not easy every day, and I’m sure he would say the same thing, 100 per cent. We definitely had to overcome some big hurdles,” she said.
She also mentioned that they went to therapy together, which helped them keep their relationship.
“I now have an ex-husband who is my best friend and would do anything for me, and I would do anything for him. Anything in the world,” Meyer said, according to E! News.
In an interview with People in May, Meyer shared more on how they maintained a close bond while raising their children.
“We travel all together. We have every holiday together. We have every birthday all together,” she said.
Meyer praised Maguire for being a good father and ex-husband. She said her new husband and Maguire get along well.
“He is an incredible father. He is an incredible ex-husband. And Geoff loves him, and he loves Geoff. And so everything just works,” Meyer said, according to People.
Meyer married Ogunlesi, the son of Nigerian billionaire lawyer and investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi, at the Hawaiian resort, as reported by E! News.
The ceremony had many celebrities in attendance, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Courteney Cox, Jeff Bezos, and his wife Lauren Sánchez Bezos.
Maguire and Meyer have two children, Ruby, 19, and Otis, 17, reported E! News.
This wedding came about five months after Meyer and Ogunlesi welcomed a daughter together, according to the entertainment outlet.
Meyer announced the arrival of their baby in a Father’s Day post, writing, “We love you the most @geoffo212. Happy Father’s Day. A perfect month with our perfect baby girl.”
E! News also reported that photos of the wedding were obtained by celebrity news outlet TMZ.
