Tuchel worries about Cole Palmer's injuries affecting his chances

England manager Thomas Tuchel is worried about Cole Palmer’s ongoing injury troubles. He says the Chelsea forward is missing too many chances with the national team.

Palmer has pulled out from the latest England camp because he is feeling discomfort and pain. Tuchel mentioned that the player cannot perform at his best while dealing with these issues.

Fabrizio Romano shared on X on Friday that Tuchel said, “I am told he is playing with discomfort and pain, and he cannot compete at the highest level with discomfort and pain.”

Tuchel added that Palmer let the right people know about his choice to withdraw, and Chelsea also informed England about it.

Injury Concerns

The England boss recognized that Palmer’s frequent absences are due to injuries. He made it clear that this situation is not Palmer’s fault.

“He misses too many opportunities, and he misses way too many camps with injuries. It’s not his fault,” Tuchel said.

Tuchel also mentioned that having Palmer at England camps is crucial for assessing the player and his growth within the national team.

“I can only judge what I witness in my team. For that you have to be in camp. If you are not in camp there is a next level you cannot achieve unless you do it in my team,” he added.
