Two Arrested for Killing Police Officer's Wife in Gombe

The Gombe State Police have arrested two men linked to the armed robbery and murder of a police officer's wife in Wuro Shie Quarters, Gombe.

The suspects are 20-year-old Muhammad Bashir Sale, also known as “Full”, and 18-year-old Musa Sale Ahmad, known as “Abba.” They were arrested on Saturday, September 26, 2026, after the incident.

The police announced this information in a statement on Sunday from the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi.

The attack happened around 4:35 am on September 26. Unknown men armed with machetes and cutlasses broke into the home of Inspector Salisu Waziri, who works with the Safer Highway Patrol.

The attackers tried to steal a mobile phone from Waziri’s wife, Mrs. Aishatu Salisu. During the struggle, she raised an alarm. One of the attackers then stabbed her with a machete before they fled, leaving the phone behind.

The statement said, “When we got the report, the Pantami Divisional Patrol Team quickly went to the scene and took the victim to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, where she was sadly confirmed dead.”

After the attack, the police started an investigation to find and catch those responsible. The command reported that the two suspects, who live in Wuro Shie Quarters, were arrested soon after.

“During initial questioning, the suspects admitted to their part in the crime. We also found a sharp knife as evidence,” the statement mentioned.

The State Criminal Investigation Department in Gombe is now looking into the case. The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, has ordered a thorough investigation to ensure anyone involved is brought to justice.

The police assured the community of their commitment to keeping people safe and protecting property. They also urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
