Two men from Osogbo, Osun State, were on Thursday sent to the Ilesa Custodial Centre. They are accused of attacking staff of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) at its Oke-Ayepe office in Osogbo.

The accused, Hassan Adeshina, 38, and Isiaka Mukaila, 20, appeared before Magistrate A. Daramola at the Osogbo Chief Magistrates’ Court. They face six charges including assault, threatening lives, and behaving in a way that could disturb public peace.

The charge sheet states that the accused, along with others not caught yet, attacked Mmadukwe Michael and Jimoh Rashidat on October 21, 2026, at the IBEDC office in Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo. The accused allegedly pressured the two IBEDC workers to hand over the money collected for the company that day.

The defendants pleaded not guilty to the charges against them. The charge read, “That you, Hassan Adeshina, Isiaka Mukaila, and others now at large, on the same date, time, and place, did attack Mmadukwe Michael, a staff member of IBEDC Office, Oke-Ayepe, Osogbo, and threatened him to give you the money they collected for the company by force. If he refused, you would do him harm.
