UCL draw: PSG leads 36 clubs into Thursday's matchups

The draw for the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League will happen on Thursday. Thirty-six clubs will find out who they will face in the European tournament this season.

Defending champions Paris Saint-Germain top Pot One, alongside other major European teams, as the league phase gets ready to kick off.

On Wednesday, UEFA announced that the draw will have nine teams in each of the four pots.

Pot One includes Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Liverpool, Inter Milan, Manchester City, Arsenal, Barcelona, and Atletico Madrid. PSG enters the draw as the current champions after winning the title last season. The other eight clubs in Pot One are also strong competitors.

Pot Two has several top European teams as well. This group includes Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Sporting, Aston Villa, Porto, Manchester United, Club Brugge, Real Betis, and PSV Eindhoven.

English clubs are well represented in the pots. Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool are in Pot One. Aston Villa and Manchester United are in Pot Two. No English clubs are in Pots Three or Four.

Pot Three features clubs like Feyenoord, Lille, Bodo/Glimt, Napoli, RB Leipzig, Villarreal, Fenerbahce, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Galatasaray.

The last pot includes Slavia Prague, Slovan Bratislava, VfB Stuttgart, AEK Athens, LASK, Como, Lens, Viking Stavanger, and Sabah.

This draw will set the league-phase fixtures for all 36 clubs, leading to exciting European matchups.

UEFA confirmed that the Champions League draw will take place on Thursday, August 27, starting at 6 pm CET.
