A 52-year-old man from Ilawe-Ekiti, Ojo Adewusi, has called the ongoing governorship election in his area peaceful and orderly.
In an interview on Saturday, Adewusi said the election process is going on in a calm way. There have been no reports of violence or any disruptions.
He noted that voters in Ilawe-Ekiti are behaving well while they take part in the election.
"The election has been peaceful here in Ilawe-Ekiti. Everything is going on smoothly and there has been no violence or any form of disturbance," he stated.
Adewusi hopes the peaceful environment will continue until voting ends and results are announced.
Voting is happening across polling units in Ekiti State as people choose a governor for the next four years. The Independent National Electoral Commission is in charge of the election in the state's 16 local government areas.
