VIDEO: Six Goalkeepers Who Scored in the Premier League

Goalkeepers usually focus on stopping goals. But six of them have managed to score in the Premier League.

The Premier League recently shared this special group. It includes six goalkeepers who have scored in the league since it started, PUNCH Online reported on Monday.

Aston Villa's Peter Schmeichel was the first to score. He netted against Everton in 2001.

Schmeichel jumped at the back post and volleyed in from a corner. This made him the first goalkeeper to score in the Premier League.

2. Brad Friedel

The second goalkeeper to score was Brad Friedel. He hit the net for Blackburn Rovers against Charlton Athletic in 2004.

The American keeper scored a late equaliser from close range.

3. Paul Robinson

Three years later, Tottenham Hotspur's Paul Robinson scored one of the most unique goals by a goalkeeper in the league.

Robinson’s long-range free-kick against Watford in 2007 bounced over goalkeeper Ben Foster and went in.

4. Tim Howard

Everton's Tim Howard scored from his own half against Bolton Wanderers in 2012.

Thanks to the wind, Howard’s long shot sailed over Bolton goalkeeper Ádám Bogdán and into the net.

5. Asmir Begović

Stoke City's Asmir Begović scored against Southampton in 2013. He found the net just 13 seconds into the match.

His goal came from his own half and travelled the length of the pitch, going over Southampton's goalkeeper Artur Boruc. This goal was known at the time as the longest in professional football.

6. Alisson Becker

Liverpool's Alisson became the sixth Premier League goalkeeper to score. He headed in a 95th-minute winner against West Bromwich Albion in 2021.

This goal helped Liverpool secure an important victory in their chase for Champions League qualification.
