To boost change through digital and economic growth in the South-East, The Pivot is starting talks about its upcoming event called ‘Pivot Conference 4.0’.
The organisers say the conference aims to help the region shape its digital and economic future.
At a recent meeting with journalists at Kodex Africa in Awka, Ifedi Ralph Eze, the Executive Director of The Pivot Africa, shared that the program is meant to help the people in the area use digital tools and platforms to find opportunities.
Eze pointed out that the South-East is falling behind the other five regions in Nigeria regarding digital awareness and acceptance, even though it is a trade hub.
He encouraged people in the region to embrace digital change since technology is now changing many business practices. He added that soon, people may not need to rely on imports anymore, as they could order goods online and have them delivered.
He mentioned that the conference will help close the digital gap for traders, business owners, entrepreneurs, students, and others. It will provide them with tools and networks to turn their ideas into success.
He said, “The Pivot Conference is for digital transformation, shared growth and prosperity for all. Digital transformation is no longer a conversation reserved for technology companies.
“Across our communities, there are people building businesses, developing skills, creating solutions, leading organisations and solving problems. There are young people with enormous potential, women building remarkable enterprises, professionals creating value, and businesses looking for the right connections and opportunities to grow.
“But potential alone is not enough. People need access. They need knowledge. They need networks. They need platforms. And sometimes, they simply need someone to open the right door.”
He explained that throughout the year, the event offers various platforms and experiences to connect people with knowledge, opportunities, mentorship, business growth, and meaningful relationships.
“One of these is the ‘Pivot Challenge Bootcamp’, which is meant to push participants to think, build and create practical solutions while learning about entrepreneurship, technology, and innovation,” he added.
The session also featured speakers and supporters of the digital economy. They engaged in lively discussions about digitisation, business growth, and community change in the South-East.
They also talked about real stories, practical solutions, and future possibilities. The speakers gave business owners, community leaders, and women in tech useful insights on using digital tools effectively.
About 5,000 participants will gather at the Stanel Dome in Awka for the conference later in October. This includes policy leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, educators, women in technology, grassroots innovators, and students.
One speaker, Favour Ogidi, discussed the role of women in power. She said women are being empowered to lead change through the digital revolution.
