Japan and Sweden finished their match in a 1-1 draw. Meanwhile, the Netherlands beat Tunisia 3-1 in their final group F matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The first half ended without any goals. But things changed after the break.
Japan scored first in the 56th minute. Daizen Maeda found the net from close range after a nice pass from Ritsu Doan.
Sweden came back six minutes later. Anthony Elanga equalised in the 62nd minute with a great finish from a pass by Viktor Gyökeres.
Both teams tried hard to get a winning goal in the final minutes. But neither could score again, and the match ended 1-1.
This draw was enough for both teams to move on to the Round of 32.
Japan will play against Brazil in the Round of 32. Sweden is still waiting to find out who they will face, which will be decided after the other group matches.
In another match, the Netherlands started strong against Tunisia. They scored in just the third minute when Ellyes Skhiri accidentally put the ball in his own net.
Just four minutes later, the Dutch made it 2-0. Brian Brobbey scored after receiving a pass from Virgil van Dijk, giving his team a solid lead before half-time.
Tunisia got one back in the 54th minute. Houssem Mastouri scored after being set up by Hannibal Mejbri, bringing some hope for a comeback.
But the Netherlands quickly restored their two-goal lead. In the 63rd minute, Jan Paul van Hecke scored, making it 3-1 and sealing a well-deserved victory.
This win means the Netherlands moved on to the Round of 32. Tunisia, however, was knocked out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, finishing at the bottom with zero points.
